POSITION SUMMARY

This is an hourly position with set weekly tasks and goals.

Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) Developer

POSITION SUMMARY
As a member of the Development team, you will leverage advanced technical expertise to develop the Netsweeper Windows Client Filter. The Windows Client Filter is also tightly linked to both the Netsweeper Linux and Netsweeper Macintosh releases and therefore cross platform knowledge is an asset. You will work towards implementing new frameworks, adding new features, and releasing the Client Filter on new Windows platforms. You will provide hands on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, feature explanations, and best practice guidance to the Development and Technical Support teams.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide prompt and complete resolution to variances
  • Responsible for the design and development of new features
  • Performance improvements and enhancements of existing components
  • Assist QA and Technical Support to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis
  • Lead the resolution of critical technical issues
  • Liaise and work closely with the Netsweeper Quality Assurance team on escalated technical issues and product roadmap changes/new features
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Windows Development
  • Be a leader in the group, both on execution and in knowledge sharing


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of prior experience in windows WFP, NDK, TDI, LSP, or NDIS development
  • Demonstrated analysis, problem solving and skills troubleshooting expertise
  • Detailed, organized and results oriented
  • Experience developing and maintaining Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) drivers
  • Well acquainted with the WFP architecture:
  • --Must have written WFP Callout drivers
  • --Familiar with WFP ALE filters
  • --Solid understanding of VC++ (Win32 & MFC)
  • --Strong debugging skills and proficient in analyzing crash dumps
  • --Sound knowledge of Windows internals, C/C++, Assembly (x86)
  • --Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure
  • Solid understanding of Internet technologies: firewalls, web servers, web proxy servers, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY
As a member of the Technical Support team, you will leverage advanced technical expertise to resolve customer case escalations. Development experience will enable you in helping customers overcome technical challenges. You will provide hands on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, feature explanations, and best practice guidance to the broader Technical Support team in assisting Netsweeper customers during critical and time sensitive situations.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage highly visible, global and strategic, enterprise cases to ensure 100% customer satisfaction
  • Provide prompt and complete resolution to technical challenges and business issues that have been escalated
  • Assist third-party developers in troubleshooting their integration with Netsweeper APIs and implementation of other Netsweeper products. This will involve debugging, troubleshooting, and taking responsibility to see that the issue is fully resolved
  • Lead the resolution of critical technical issues
  • Liaise and work closely with the Netsweeper Development team on escalated technical issues and product roadmap changes/new features
  • Identify, develop and execute training/education gaps or challenges
  • Advocate customer's priorities internally within Netsweeper
  • Share best practices with team members to enhance the quality and efficiency of customer support and contribute to the knowledge base
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Developer and Integration Skills Group.
  • Be a leader in the group, both on execution and in knowledge sharing
  • Take the initiative to create knowledge base materials dedicated towards operational efficiency while also empowering and enabling the developer community


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of prior experience in Technical Support and/or 3+ years with development experience
  • Strong Business Acumen
  • Demonstrated analysis, problem solving and skills troubleshooting expertise
  • Detailed, organized and results oriented
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate customer issues as required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of customer and SFDC management
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure
  • Solid understanding of Internet technologies: firewalls, web servers, web proxy servers, etc.
  • Understanding of database concepts, data management (RDBMS) and SQL
  • Solid knowledge of XML, preferably experience using server-to-server web services (SOAP)
  • Strong experience in both the front-end web tier (JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, DHTML, CSS, and cross-browser development) and back end (Java,.Net,SQL) software development

Software Engineer Quality Assurance

POSITION SUMMARY
As a member of the Quality Assurance team, you will leverage advanced technical expertise to automate feature, system, unit, and regression testing. In this role you will be responsible for automation and manual testing of the Netsweeper product lines. You will work closely with the Development team during the development phase creating test cases to validate features and requirement changes in the product.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with developers are various stages of the development life cycle
  • Write detailed feature test plans, design test beds, test topologies
  • Development Automated testing in C, AWK, Shell, and other languages
  • Investigate script failures in automated test plans, modify scripts and libraries and log product defects
  • Develop and maintain test libraries used to control automated unit and regression test suites
  • Work with Development to perform code reviews and assist with debugging and profiling
  • Initiate and participate in efforts to improve group productivity and test effectiveness


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of prior experience in Software Quality Assurance Engineering
  • Experience applying test methodologies, creating test plans, executing & automating test cases
  • Hands on experience with L2 switching protocols like VLAN, STP, LACP, Trunking, etc.
  • Experience with L3 protocols OSPF, BGP, Traffic Engineering, Policy Based Routing
  • Experience with PHP, Shell, C, Java, and AWK
  • Previous experience with traffic control tools like IXIA IxLoad an asset
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure
  • Solid understanding of Internet technologies: firewalls, web servers, web proxy servers, etc.
  • Understanding of database concepts and data management (RDBMS) and SQL
  • Solid knowledge of XML, preferably experience using server-to-server web services (SOAP)
