POSITION SUMMARY
Netsweeper is currently looking for full time employees to gather website content using the proprietary tools. No specific computer skills are required other than an ability to surf the Internet and use creativity for searching for content

This is an hourly position with set weekly tasks and goals.

Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) Developer

Netsweeper’s purpose is to allow customers a choice with respect to available URLs, IMs, file transfers, and protection against threats or attacks. Netsweeper filtering software and solutions continuously evolve and offer the most protected and managed Internet experience currently available.

POSITION SUMMARY
As a member of the Development team, you will leverage advanced technical expertise to develop the Netsweeper Windows Client Filter. The Windows Client Filter is also tightly linked to both the Netsweeper Linux and Netsweeper Macintosh releases and therefore cross platform knowledge is an asset. You will work towards implementing new frameworks, adding new features, and releasing the Client Filter on new Windows platforms. You will provide hands on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, feature explanations, and best practice guidance to the Development and Technical Support teams.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide prompt and complete resolution to variances
  • Responsible for the design and development of new features
  • Performance improvements and enhancements of existing components
  • Assist QA and Technical Support to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis
  • Lead the resolution of critical technical issues
  • Liaise and work closely with the Netsweeper Quality Assurance team on escalated technical issues and product roadmap changes/new features
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Windows Development
  • Be a leader in the group, both on execution and in knowledge sharing


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of prior experience in windows WFP, NDK, TDI, LSP, or NDIS development
  • Demonstrated analysis, problem solving and skills troubleshooting expertise
  • Detailed, organized and results oriented
  • Experience developing and maintaining Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) drivers
  • Well acquainted with the WFP architecture:
  • --Must have written WFP Callout drivers
  • --Familiar with WFP ALE filters
  • --Solid understanding of VC++ (Win32 & MFC)
  • --Strong debugging skills and proficient in analyzing crash dumps
  • --Sound knowledge of Windows internals, C/C++, Assembly (x86)
  • --Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure
  • Solid understanding of Internet technologies: firewalls, web servers, web proxy servers, etc.
